South Hills Pet Rescue ("SHPR," "we," "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue in South Park Township, Pennsylvania. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through southhillspetrescue.org, our applications, our email communications, and our fundraisers, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information you give us. We collect what you choose to share, including:

• Contact details such as your name, email, phone number, and mailing address.
• Adoption, foster, and volunteer applications, which may include household information, references, landlord or veterinarian contacts, and details about other pets.
• Donation and purchase details, such as the amount and date. Payments are handled by our payment processors, and we never see or store your full card or bank number.
• Fundraiser information, such as the name, address, phone, and email you give when buying a lottery calendar or event ticket, so we can contact winners and mail prizes.
• Email sign-up information, such as your email address and any name or interests you choose to provide.
• Messages you send us through our contact form, email, phone, or social media.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our site, our website host and analytics tools may collect basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, and referring site. When you open our emails, our email provider may record whether a message was delivered, opened, or clicked. This is done with cookies, tracking pixels, and similar technologies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work as intended.

• To process adoption, foster, and volunteer applications and match animals with homes.
• To process donations, send receipts, and keep records required for tax and nonprofit reporting.
• To run fundraisers, including notifying and paying lottery calendar winners.
• To respond to your questions and requests.
• To send email newsletters and updates about adoptable dogs, events, fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support the rescue.

You may receive our emails if you signed up on our website or at an event, or if you adopted, fostered, volunteered, donated, or bought from a SHPR fundraiser. We send our emails through Constant Contact, which stores and processes your information on our behalf. Every email includes an unsubscribe link and an "Update Profile" link. You can also contact us to be removed. We honor all requests promptly, and you will not receive further marketing emails once you unsubscribe.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, including our email list. We share it only:

• With service providers who help us operate, such as the tools listed below. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
• With veterinarians, references, or landlords you list on an application, only to verify that application.
• When required by law, or to protect the safety of people or animals.

These services have their own privacy policies, which govern the information they collect:

• GoDaddy: website hosting and site analytics.
• Constant Contact: email newsletters and announcements.
• PayPal: online donations.
• Zeffy: fundraiser tickets and lottery calendar sales.
• Google reCAPTCHA: spam protection on our forms. Its use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Social media platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram), if you interact with our pages or embedded content.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and access is limited to volunteers and staff who need it. No method of online transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, such as donation records kept for tax purposes.

• Email: Click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email, use "Update Profile" to change your details, or contact us.
• Access and updates: Contact us to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to records we must keep by law.
• Cookies: Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies.

Our website and emails are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Adopters, fosters, and lottery calendar participants must be 18 or older. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
